Since 2010, TBCC has significantly enhanced its inspection methods by investing in advanced mechanical, chemical, and non-destructive examination (NDE) test equipment. This investment ensures rigorous monitoring of the quality of products during hot expansion and heat treatment processes.

Key Inspection Equipment and Their Functions

1. Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine

Purpose: Tests the mechanical properties of various pipes.

Capabilities:

  • Measures tensile strength
  • Evaluates yield strength
  • Assesses elongation
  • Applicable to fluid pipes, structure pipes, and line pipes.

2. Half-Automatic Impact Machine

Purpose: Assesses the tenacity of pipes at varying temperatures.

Temperature Range: -60℃ to room temperature.

Applicable Materials:

  • Fluid pipes
  • Structure pipes
  • Low-temperature pipes.

3. Spectrum Analyzer

Purpose: Analyzes elemental composition of various pipes.

  • Elements Tested: C, Mn, Si, P, S, Cr, Ni, Mo, Al, Ti, V, Nb, Cu, B.
  • Method Used: Atomic emission spectrometry.

4. Automatic NDE Operations

Technologies Used:

  • Ultrasonic testing
  • Eddy current testing.

Performance:

  • Speed: Up to 400m per shift.
  • Diameter Range: 219mm to 720mm.
  • Wall Thickness Range: 5mm to 35mm.

5. Metalloscope and Polishing Machine (Introduced in 2013)

  • Purpose: Evaluates the grain size of heat-treated products.
  • Scope: Can test 55 different steel grades.

6. Infrared Radiation Thermometer

  • Function: Monitors and confirms temperature consistency during hot expansion and heat treatment.
  • Verification: Ensures instrument readings align with actual temperatures.
